Who can look you up on Facebook

Facebook is removing “Who can look up your Timeline by name” setting.

What was it?
It was a setting that controlled whether people could find your Timeline (Facebook page) by searching for your name.

Why are they removing it?
Facebook has chosen to remove the setting because it isn’t as useful as it was before, and they feel that there are better options to manage privacy settings. When Facebook Originally created the setting, there was only one way to find someone; to search their name. You can now find people multiple ways: being tagged in a photo, searching common interests or using Graph Search.

To manage who can view your Timeline go to your Privacy Shortcuts (click the lock icon at the top of your page) and choose who you want to see your Timeline.

Moving Forward
To edit privacy settings of past posts, you can do so in your Privacy Settings.
When you share photos, link or a status, you can edit settings for that specific post.
By going to your Activity Log, you can see what you have shared in the past.

I hope you found this helpful!
